If your are a terrific student and Division I caliber athlete, what are some good schools to consider other than Stanford?

Duke for a lot of sports
The ivies for certain sports (lax, crew).

Duke
Michigan
Berkeley
USC
Northwestern
Vanderbilt

tons of options...

what sport?

It depends what sport, but Duke, Notre Dame and Stanford are generally considered the cream of that crop when you look at the academic success of student-athletes at the DI level. Depending on sport though there are many good options.

Any top university with Division I athletics. It depends on the sport of course.

i would put ut-austin up there, but of course im biased because im texan.

Duke, Northwestern, Rice, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Boston College, Virginia, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Wisconsin, UCLA, UC-Berkeley, North Carolina-Chapel Hill, U of Southern California, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Colgate.

What about University of Florida Florida has solid academics and a pretty good sports program lately ;)

UVA, UNC, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Maryland, UCLA, Florida, Davidson, Rice and the Ivy and Patriot League schools.

Many teams mentioned above have low/average grad rates for student-athletes. The Ivies, Stanford, Rice, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, and Duke (exception: basketball) are the ones that have high grad rates.

Believe it or not, Northwestern w tennis is currently ranked #1. ;)

Cornell wasn't mentioned.

Patriot League Schools (West Point, Naval Academy, Colgate, Bucknell, etc) have the academic index whereby athletes have to be "academically representative" of the school and they have very high grad rates.
