My last thread was way too specific, I’m going to make this simple: I can’t find too much information on the top schools for Undergraduate nutrition major. I was thinking I could call a counselor at UC Berkeley and ask what I courses I need to suffice their requirements that I would take at a Community College.
Just wondering where UC Berkeley ranks on the list of top schools for nutrition and if you guys know which schools are at the top. All the lists I found online were outdated so far. Thanks
To compare the dietetics program at different schools, you would want to find out the pass rate for the national rd exam by students at whichever school, and also their placement into internships. http://nature.berkeley.edu/site/forms/oisa/nsd_student_handbook_2013-2014.pdf
if you look at page 17, it says their goal is for 90% of students to pass the RD exam.
That would be your starting point. Look at what courses each requires for the degree. Then get serious about the affordability. Keep in mind, if you change your major (as many do), will you still be happy at that school?
California is a nice place to study nutrition, but do some research on where a nutritional sciences (or nutrition) major is offered elsewhere. There are tons of places in Pennsylvania that offer it. Specific places that I remember have it (I’m like 99% sure) are Virginia Tech and University of Vermont–all nicely ranked places.
