What schools do you think have the best collegiate experience?

In other words, which schools most fit the stereotypical perception you think a college should have?

In other words, which schools most fit the stereotypical perception you think a college should have?

I think USC is very classic-college-experience.

Penn State seems like the epitome of college life to me.

That’s Penn State, not the University of Pennsylvania (though Penn is also great for collegiate experience, I wouldn’t quite call it stereotypical)

I’ve only been a student at one college, so I can’t really compare it to other places, but I’d say undergrad life at Dartmouth is just about ideal.

Hmmm… how about Duke?

People really love Duke. Beautiful campus, great sports and all that, fabulous academics and much more diverse and interesting than the old stereotype…

I thought Princeton had the best undergraduate experience.

UNC-Chapel Hill. Awesome college town, great at pretty much every sport, amazing academics, and great weather. Honestly its hard to beat as far as overall collegiate experiences go.

Duke has a beautiful campus and a vibe that some people like, but it is located in an absolutely terrible city (Durham).

Stanford, Notre Dame, others.

MY SCHOOL.

Any more questions?

UNC
Duke
Michigan
Wisconsin
Florida
Texas

Rice, Yale and William and Mary. they’re copy cats of Oxbridge :D

Duke, Stanford, Notre Dame, Rice.

Florida (I would particularly hate it)

UCLA

It depends what you mean by classic. If you mean the 1950s style studious prep school, I’d say Amherst. If you mean teen-movie classic, although I don’t know much about the party scene, Penn State sounds like a winner (the fact that University Park has 40,000 students makes this pretty inevitable). If you mean all-around classic - lots of school spirit, high but reasonably achieving students, good sports team, college town feel, nice campus - I’d say UNC Chapel Hill.

^^^ “MY SCHOOL. Any more questions?”

Nice. As it should be!
