Best Computer Science program in FL ?

Hey,

I just got accepted in USF, UCF, and UF for spring 2009. I was thinking of attending USF since it is close to my home, and I prefer an urban surrounding. But what school has a better Computer Science program ?

I was thinking of attending USF for my bachlors and then UF for my masters. Let me know what you guys think.

thanks!

Not sure if UCF is located in Orlando proper but it would be a better choice than USF. I'm from the Tampa area and I know how nice it is to have a lot to do, but I wasn't really impressed with how people that I know that went there turned out. UF would obviously be the best choice, and the town isn't half bad, but it's definitely not urban and I missed that a lot while I was there for undergrad.

UF will have the best computer science program.

Hey,

I looked into UF over the internet, and everywhere it says that it is like a public IVY league school. The curriculum is as hard as Harvard... and the average admission GPA is 4.0.

I transfered into that school with a 3.4.... Is the curriculum a lot harder then USF or UCF ?

thanks ! I really appreciate all the replies.

Designations like "public ivy" attempt to cash in on the connotations of the word "Ivy". UF was not very hard in my experience; I graduated summa cum laude (highest honors) in engineering while putting in 20-30 hours a week on average.

I'm not trying to say UF is bad - the quality of instruction was fine - but the curves were really easy due to the amount of jocks with no work ethic whose weekends started Thursday night and didn't end until Monday night.

Not that I've been to any of the schools named, but reputation-wise, in the field (I am in CS), UF is the best of those. The others are not even close.
