Okay so I had finished my first year of community college, and I thought it went pretty good. I am now currently planning on getting an Associates degree. But, I want to also transfer. I want to transfer to a good Computer Science school, but everytime I look that up it always brings me up to Columbia or MIT and I am sure as heck not getting in there. Here is what I have:
3.00 GPA (I do plan on uping this GPA)
1410 SAT Score (The 2400 version / I am considering retaking it however)
Top 25% in my HS Class
I live in the Northeast, New York to be exact. Anything in New York would be sweet but if anything in like Massachuesetts or Pennslyvania would be cool also. Just give me some schools that would fit my criteria. NO IVY LEAGUE LIKE THE INTERNET THREW AT ME IM TRYING TO BE REALISTIC!
If you want to leverage your credentials to get the best education, you have to get out of the Northeast. Go South or Midwest and you can get a top science education. Auburn, Mississippi State, LSU, Tennessee, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Kansas State, Kansas, Texas Tech, oklahoma, ok state, Nebraska Arkansas, Kentucky.
Many schools will not look at either HS transcripts or SAT scores when reviewing Transfer applications. Make sure to review requirements at any of the schools you’re targeting before putting any additional effort into retesting.
