I really liked the CR section of Barron’s 2400. It helped raise my CR score from ~750 to 800. I’d definitely recommend it! It has a decent amount of practice, but not too much.

I would say that it’s best to practice CR with the BB. If you don’t have that, I’d recommend Princeton Review. Although the CR sections are slightly different (in my opinion), they come somewhat close to the actual thing. The PR book contains both CR practice and actual tests.

Good luck! :)

Well if you have an Internet connection, the best one is of course the Blue Book. It raised my CR from a 500 to a 700. The best method for learning was eagle94’s way where after every question you read the explanation why the answer was correct.

I have the blue book. I should have mentioned that in the OP.

The BB is very good for practice, but I don’t find the CR strategies very helpful. I have Barron’s writing workbook, and I love it. It brought my writing scores up a ton. Because of this I’m tempted to buy the Barron’s CR book, but I wanted to see what CC had to say about it first.

Also, can anyone link me to good CR strategies on here? I haven’t found any I like in particular. I need the most help in the long passages, not so much the sentence completions.

Here’s a CR strategies thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/750399-how-attack-sat-critical-reading-section-effectively.html

You should also take a look at Silverturtle’s guide and Xiggi’s guide. I don’t have the links, but they are on here! You just have to look a bit.
