I need to improve my CR from 580 to at least 700. I already bought the direct hits books. what books would you suggest? are there any CR-specific books? i know i need practice badly so what books do you think are the best for the CR?

anybody please?

blueboooooook

i’ve used the blue book already for my first try in the SATs. any more books?

I used Kaplan and it was okay. There probably were some better books but I guess thats better than nothing. The way to really improve is read many newspapers. I made my internet homepage NYT and read the travel articles that interested me. You don’t have to read the boring, scholarly ones to get better since every major newspaper writer will write like the SAT (basically). Also get Wall Street Journal and read it before bed. You can get it for free here: [Free Wall Street Journal Magazine Subscription - Hey, It’s Free!](Free Wall Street Journal Newspaper Subscription • Hey, It's Free!)

Um, bluebook3219: the Blue Book IS real SATs. Your claims make no sense and you’re just another shill for James Hong, whose reputation is not being bolstered by all this spamming. Oh, and looks like Hyeran was banned.

Okay so is James Hong’s book really good? Has anyone actually tried this besides bluebook3219 and Hyeran?

btw why did hyeran get banned?

This James Hong dude is like a mystery >"<

hyeran probably got banned just like bluebook3219 will be: for bringing up this book inexplicably in every comment.

i used McGraw Hill book- and its really good at explaining sentence completions, grammar insights, and cr stratgeies- for each section it covers everything in detail.

Would you recommend mc grawhill for someone trying to increase the CR score from 680 to 750 ? Thanks.

I used both Barrons and Kaplans CR wkbooks, and I really liked both.
If you must choose 1, choose Kaplan since it’s more straightforward.

Just my 2 cents.

Direct Hits

Its a vocab book, but the vocab is well-selected, and most of the words appeared on one of the 3 times I took it. Also, the way it is explained will help you remember it. I’m a freshmen in college right now and because of that book I remember words I learned in the beginning of junior year
