best CSU for a computer science major? is computer science even for me? please help if possible :(

I’ve recently been admitted to 4 CSU’s which are:
Sac state
Sfsu
Csueb
Sonoma state

Denied from:
Sjsu

Still waiting for decision:
Chico state
Csu northridge

I was wondering which school would be the best for me. I got admitted to those 4 schools for computer science and I’m still trying to figure out if I should stick with computer science or if I should change my major. In the past, I’ve been lightly exposed to computer science. I took 2 short summer courses in the past, one being Python, and the other being Java and HTML. I forgot everything I learned in these 2 courses since they were a while ago so I’m basically back to being a computer science newbie with no knowledge about programming and coding. From what I remember, the courses weren’t ACTUAL classes, so we weren’t graded, assigned homework and projects, and we didn’t take tests and quizzes. It was a part of a kids summer camp, so the stuff we did in the courses were very basic. Overall, I enjoyed the python class more than the java & HTML class, but both weren’t too bad. As for my high school background, I did decent. I passed most of my classes, the only class that I failed was AP physics 1 which I got a D+ in. That caused me to hate physics with a passion, and I still do to this day.On top of that, I got a 2 on the ap exam. To make up for all the mess, I decided to take the SAT physics test and I got a 530. I’m a pretty motivated student, I just have a tendency to get left behind by everyone else in the class depending on the subject. For math, I would say I’m ok at it. I’m currently in calculus, and got a B in the first semester. I’m currently struggling right now in the 2nd semester but I am confident my grade will catch up in the 3 months of high school remaining.

A friend has told me that I don’t need any previous experience if I’m doing computer science at csueb, and I would like confirmation on that. Other than that, I don’t really know anything about these schools and I’m kind of lost. any help is appreciated, thanks!!!

CS programs start you out from scratch, so you aren’t required to have previous programming or CS experience before starting.

Most people will probably rate all the schools you’ve chosen equally, so go to whichever school you like the most; or if one has a specialized track that you’re interested in, go there.

i agree - there really isn’t a best or worst on your list. Go where you will be comfortable - especially since you think a major change is a real possibility. Sonoma is relatively small so, it has a really different feel than the others (which you will like or you wont.) the weather and surrounds at Sac, EB and SF are really different - again one will feel more like home. Rent near Sac State is probability 1/3 of what you will pay in SF or Hayward - which could be a big factor, or not. Spend a half day on each campus, talk to some students, be sure they offer your plan B major, then follow your heart.

There’s no wrong choice.
