Best CSU For accounting?

Im cc student looking to transfer to a csu, majoring in accounting. So which csu is best for accounting?

Normally they all are about the same. The bigger name CSU campuses (i.e., Long Beach, San Diego, LA, SF, San Jose, etc.) are good. When I worked in So. Cal., Fullerton and Northridge were considered good for accounting. If you are thinking of a CPA long term, check with the job placement office to see which campus the accounting firms (especially the Big 4) recruit and invterview at.

i agree, most of them produce solid accounting majors. The most popular campuses are selective, especially for non-local students. You will need a very string SDSU, LB, SLO Fullerton and Northridge. Sac and SF are more accessible but, both very reputable…
All things equal, I’d pick a school somewhat close to where you’d like to work after you graduate.

AACSB Accredited Accounting Programs in California

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is a globally recognized organization that provides accreditation for undergraduate and graduate accounting programs. Only 180 accounting programs are currently accredited and have been found to meet the rigorous standards established by the AACSB. The following accounting Cal State programs in California have been accredited by the AACSB:

California State University, Fullerton (Steven G. Mihaylo College of Business and Economics)
San Diego State University (College of Business Administration)

Businessweek Top Undergrad Accounting Programs:
California Polytechnic State SLO (Orfalea) #66

CSU Northridge, San Jose State, CSU LA, CSU Long Beach and Cal Poly Pomona all mentioned as good accounting programs.

Long time So Cal CPA here (SDSU undergrad & USC masters) my $.02:

Many of the cal states have what I call “regional bias” in hiring. If you want to work in the Silicon Valley or the Bay Area, then SJSU or SFSU are a good call. Long Beach, CSUF & Northridge all hire well into LA/OC. SDSU is very well respected, for sure the place to go if you want to end up in San Diego.

Cal Poly SLO grads hire well into both No Cal & So Cal.

That is not to imply that you can’t go to say CSUF and get hired into a No Cal office.

Bottom line, get great grades and you’ll be fine with any of the popular cal state schools. Good luck!
