Namely considering: Northridge, Long Beach, Fullerton, Pomona, San Diego
Which CSU offers the best accounting program?
Which CSU has the most accounting firms (big 4, regional, and local) recruiting on campus?
How would you rank the colleges above?
CSUF and SDSU are AACSB accredited for accounting.
CSUF upper division course requirements include two courses in statistics beyond introductory statistics.
CSUF, CSULB, and CSUN are well known for their high recruitment in LA/OC area.
My commute times are similar for almost all of the colleges listed, so commute times aren’t a factor.
My end goal is to get CPA.
Can you please help me find more information about these campuses and accounting programs? I have scoured online forums, linkedin, school websites, and various ranking sites. I plan to visit some campuses over the next month.
A little unclear on your current status. SD and LB are both pretty selective so, they may not be reasonable targets for you.
All of them have solid programs so, there’s no wrong choice here.
it sounds like you are fairly local to all of them. I’d suggest you visit all of the campuses while school is in session - contact the Biz dept ahead of time and see if you can sit in on a freshman Accounting course while you are in the area. Meet and talk to some students and ask the about their experience as a student, the social scene. parking, class sizes and availability and other quality of life considerations.
I am sure one will stand out after your visit.
good luck.
