Anyone know the top CSU campuses for Physics?

There really isn’t a well known CSU for science like there is for Business with Fullerton or Engineering with Pomona. But in general and by ranking, your best choices would be between SDSU, Cal Poly SLO, and CSULB.

This is my general impression of the CSU system.

Cal Poly SLO - Never heard anything about their physics program. SDSU is a research university. CSULB? Not too many bright people over there. CSULB tried to recruit students from here for their graduate program and I don’t see it worth it at all, especially because of their poor placement of master students into good PhD programs. They showed us where they all went.

I would not really recommend my program, but I know that JPL regularly invests and recruits from my school. So, if you have an interest in working for NASA and are a top student, go ahead and come here. You will stand out and do well afer graduation. If you’re doing average, you’re screwed. Just like my buddy who is doing average as a physics major at UCLA. He’s screwed too. So he’s going to be doing a master’s in engineering somewhere.
