Pretty simple, which CSUs have the best biology programs?
Biology programs can be found at all the CSU’s. There is no ranking for undergrad Biology programs in the CSU’s but I would base the “best” by the competitiveness of the CSU’s overall.
The top five-six CSU’s would probably be Cal Poly SLO, San Diego State, Long Beach State, Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona and San Jose State.
Some schools may have a specialized emphasis/concentrations vs another school, that might be more of interest to you.
For example, SLO’s biology major has these concentrations:
Anatomy and Physiology
Ecology
Marine Biology & Conservation
Molecular & Cellular Biology
Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation
San Diego state has these concentrations/emphasis:
B.S. Biology (General degree, no emphasis)
B.S. Biology (Emphasis in Cellular and Molecular Biology)
B.S. Biology (Emphasis in Ecology) B.S. Biology (Emphasis in Evolution and Systematics)
B.S. Biology (Emphasis in Marine Biology)
Long Beach state has these concentrations:
General Biology
Organismal Biology
Molecular Cell Biology & Physiology
Marine Biology
Biotechnology-Certificate
Microbiology
Check at each school’s website to see what fits your goals. What do you plan to do with your Biology Degree?
I plan to start studying for a master’s degree in marine science and then work as a marine biologist
Attached is a list of CSU’s that offer Marine Science/Biology:
