My younger brother is applying to several CUNY's. What are the best overall CUNY's in order of best -- worst? Thanks

Depends on the major Baruch is really good for business

well generally the best are hunter college, baruch, brooklyn college, and queens college.

queens college is definitely the best all-around- it's known as the "jewel" of the system. unless you know what you want to do and another college is better in it, i'd pick queens. the best are definitely city college, hunter, queens and brooklyn. if he could get into CUNY honors, it's a fantastic deal.

Each CUNY has a specific niche .

If your brother plans on majoring in Business then he should attent Baruch.

If your brother is undecided for a major interested in a straight liberal arts education, then he should be looking in to Queens, Brooklyn or Hunter.

Brooklyn, Queens City and Hunter all have good teacher education programs.

If your brother is looking in to social sciences (psychology, sociology) or nursing, then he should be looking at Hunter.

If your brother is interested in the Sophie B Davis joint BA?MD program Architecture, Biomed or engineering then he should be looking at City College.

Many of the community colleges also have articualtion agreements in place for automatic transfers to NYU

Some also have articulation agreements with Cornell 3 land grant universities

*the Serrano Scholars Program joins Hostos Community College with Columbia University's School of General Studies (GS) and School of International & Public Affairs (SIPA) to provide participants with the educational and professional background necessary for leadership roles in foreign affairs and national defense.

Graduates from Hostos Community College are eligible to apply to GS to complete a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Upon successful completion of the undergraduate degree, Serrano Scholars may apply for admission to SIPA to earn a Master of International Affairs (MIA) or Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree.

Funded by grants from the United States Departments of State, Education, and Defense, the Serrano Scholars Program honors Congressman Jos

The 4 best CUNY schools are, in no particular order:
- Brooklyn College (especially for music, speech, children studies, education, creative writing)
- Hunter College (especially for liberal arts curriculum, nursing)
- Queen’s College
- Baruch College (especially for business)

Then we have: City College and John Jay

I cannot comment on the 2-year junior colleges. Medgar Evers College (a 4-yr) is looked down on because it is relatively new and very small in enrollment (whether fair or not).

FYI: some CUNY alums end up at the Ivy League (like #1 Yale Law) and many profs hail from the original Ivy League and the might-as-well-be-called-Ivy-League (like Mich, U Chicago, MIT, Berkeley)

Which CUNY is great for Biology or Biochemistry?

@DMA017- Try Hunter. Many of my friends that graduated from HS went to Hunter for pre-med.
