What are the top dental schools? I was wondering what the top 10 dental schools were because us news only lists the top medical schools...

Check this out: http://members.tripod.com/~softballteam/best.html

This is what I've heard from dentists I know:
Base your decision on:
1. where the tuition is the lowest(your state school)
2. location of where you want to practice

there are no rankings for dental schools, the deans of each respective schools all met and decided not to release any information to usnews. Thus, usnews stopped ranking dental schools. Pretty much, rankings do not matter whatsoever, so apply to your state school and hope you get in(most state schools accept very, very few oos students). The private ones are usually the least desirable, except for Pacific, great clinincal experience and is only three years, and Harvard, if you are into research(they are not that great at clinical). I guess another factor you can base decisions on is whether you want to specialize or do general dentistry. Some schools are better at placing students in specialized residencies, some are better at clinical experience for general practitioners. Schools known for specializing are UCLA and Columbia. Schools known for great clinical are UCSF, Pacific, and Nova. I hear all dental schools are going to be some of the worst four years of your life, and will give you very similar training, so you might as well go to your state school and pay less.

Just one note: the exception is NYU(from what i hear)it is expensive, has large class sizes, and doesn't provide much research or quality clinical expereinces. Pacific also seems to have very happy students and supposedly produces high-quality dentists.

I know Tufts is very good for dental school.

Harvard, Umich, UMD, Pacific, UCSF, Tufts

definitely uconn

Tufts (10 characters)

So NYU does offer Dental Grad School? I don't really care if it's not the best but, I definatly want to go there for Undergrad, and probably Grad.

my dentist went to nyu..

UTHSC, or so I've heard.
