Best dorm for me

I was wondering which dorms would be best for me. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up to somebody I can be pretty crazy. I'm out of state, so I want a dorm where I'd get to meet lots of people. I want a dorm that's pretty social, active, has good parties, and hosts lots of activities. I've been to summer camp and things like that, so community style bathrooms or "roughing it" doesn't bother me much. I think Jester would be good for me, I was just wondering if there were any others I should look in to

Unless you apply and pay for housing soon, you won’t get your choice for a dorm. Not all freshman can live in a dorm – there isn’t enough room.

Jester is the best for social life and it is the most centrally located dorm, a convenience which you cannot overstate. It think Jester would be ideal for you. Also, the Jester East dorms have been renovated (as has the study lounge), so either Jester East or West is fine.

If you’re a girl, you should look into Scottish Rite Dormitory. It’s a private dorm, just off campus (it was so convenient I didn’t realize it was “off campus”). I lived there all four years (a long time ago!) and loved it. It has a swimming pool and is a fun place to live. I hope my daughter can live there if she goes to UT.

@MaineLongorn did you love SRD? I sent in my application a couple days ago, and I’m awaiting my contract. My roommate already got her contract in!

Wow I haven’t even heard of Scottish Rite, but it sounds awesome! Thank you so much MaineLonghorn, I will definitely look into it

mleah, I did love it! I’m jealous that you will get to live there! It’s a beautiful dorm. The food was good when I lived there, and I bet it still is.
