Dude, you haven't even been admitted yet. See if you're admitted before freaking out about picking a residence hall. :D

In short, I think all freshman dorms are about equally nice - it's just that some have some things that others don't. It's basically about picking what you want and what you can live with.

I may be biased, but I love Goddard. It's the best location-wise (you literally roll out of bed 5 min before class and still make it on time).
Hayden is pretty close, but apparently lots of pot-smokers...
Rubin...low cost triples, but no air conditioning and a lot of people
Brittany is similar to Rubin, no air conditioning
3rd North...15 min walk, aptment style
UHall...similar to 3rd North, both in Union Square, so good location

Go Go Goddard! Because it's right above Starbucks.

how can you say "lots of pot-smokers"

something like air conditioning and location can be passed on to the next group of freshman, but how can a dorm be classified as "the pot dorm", maybe it is now, but not necessarily in the future

that's interesting you say that, because it happens to be that way...you walk outside of hayden or weinstein, there are usually people smoking outside...

There is definitely more people smoking in front of Weinstein than Hayden... but isn't that better than smoking IN the dorms?

why isn't weinstein on your list? i lived there, and i feel nostolgia everytime i pass by. it's a very social dorm, with 2 dining halls inside the building (3 if you count the kosher caf.), and the college learning center downstairs too, where you can get free tutoring in almost any subject. i had some friends in hayden too, and they loved it because of the big rooms. i used to hang out in rubin a lot as well. there, you have a REALLy nice lounge area, with a huge tv, and lots of space. goddard is cool because of the explorations floors. i really don't think you can go wrong if you pick a washington square park dorm. i wouldn't pick uhall because you'll be in union sqare, a bit of a walk from campus and the rest of the freshman community
