best dorms at UC Davis?

Im leaning towards Tercero, so far as I know the only downside is the cow smell. I know I wouldn't live in Cuatro so I was wondering if people living in the dorms could tell me some stories or pros and cons of the Tercero and Segundo dorms. Oh, and I'd be a Biology major, if that helps so far as class location. Thank you :)

There’s nothing more epic than living next to cows. I don’t actually go to Davis, but that’s my assessment.

why dont you want to live in cuarto

I would post in the Davis forum.

1st: thanks for the sarcasm

2nd: I don’t want to pay the extra money, my family is reallyyy tight on money, and I kinda want to be around more people.

3rd: i posted on here because I figured it would get more attention, the UC Davis forum wasn’t very lively.

theres an entire thread on the davis boards front page titles housing freshmen

it tells you everything

You won’t be paying extra to live in Cuarto.

@bookworm522

You’re welcome. Honestly though, I just posted it because I didn’t think anybody else would respond to this thread and it would die. I really like Davis and I think the cows are cool, so it wasn’t completely sarcastic. You’d probably get over the smell.

I checked the prices, and Cuatro is more expensive

and haha i see, thanks then.

Cuarto is the same price as all the other dorms. I don’t know where you’re getting your information from.

hmm i could have sworn it was more expensive, i guess it got mixed up in my head with the occupancy rates, my bad, i just looked at the info i got on the tour. sry, didnt mean to sound like an expert when i wasnt haha. but anywho, i still wouldn’t want cuatro, just cause i think id like the other dorm vibe better, and id be a bio major and ive heard that the others are closer to classes

It’s ok. Here’s fee information as a reference: [UC Davis Student Housing: Residence Hall Fees](Residence Halls and The Green at West Village Fees | UC Davis Student Housing and Dining Services)

“The cost for each residence hall area – Segundo, Tercero, and Cuarto – is the same.”

Tercero is the closest to the various science buildings, so as a bio major you’ll be closest to your classes in Tercero. It’s actually closer to most classes than the other two. You get used to the cow smell in a week, it’s not bad at all. As for everyone saying that Cuarto is far…Segundo is only 2 minutes closer to campus than Cuarto on bike.

Thanks :)

man its almost march and im SO NERVOUS i really hope i got in :/

Segundo because it’s not around the same price as Tercerro I think and it’s nowhere near cows. Plus, it’s convient since it’s not that far from Rites Aid and the University Mall.
