Best dorms?

I'm an incoming freshman and I know I want to stay on South Campus with a dorm thats mostly - if not all - freshman. I really care about the social aspect of the dorm. Coed would be great if possible. Once I get past those requirements I'm just curious as to the nicest ones. Suggestions?

From what I gather I think I am going to pick Morrison first. Uncertain about what's next.

i am wondering the exact same thing. but i also hear that morrison is majority sophomores, so if i were to end up there, would i be in a room/suite/on a floor with other freshman, or are the freshman mixed in with the other sophomores?

also, what about the smaller, directional dorms? (hardin, horton, craige north, koury)
are there a lot of freshman in there? are they fairly social, or not really?

Search first, please.

don’t be rude, i have searched. i am looking for a more current answer to my exact questions, thank youu

bluebox isn’t being rude corc, you are.

ok…well if anyone has an answer, i would love to hear asap before the housing deadline!

corc2011 – in Morrison, you definitely may find yourself as a freshman among sophomores. My son had a random freshman roommate but all of his suitemates were sophomores and all of the other suites on the floor on his “side” of the dorm were women, with a female RA. It was not at all what he was expecting and as nice and conveniently located as Morrison is, he as an OOS student felt removed from the freshman energy in the other (nastier) high rise south campus dorms. He moved at the semester. My advice is that if you are entering UNC with existing relationships and/or are going to be part of a club or a team that will provide entree for a core group of friends, then Morrison is great and you’ll be lucky to get it. If you are counting on those opening weeks of school and freshman dorm energy to make your core group of friends, then I’d consider other dorms. Don’t know about the smaller south campus dorms. Hope this helps.

thanks, im trying to understand what dorms are all freshman. can someone please rank the nicest coed most if not all freshman dorms on south campus?

“Nice” is a huge blanket term, I hope you understand. Something that is “nice” in terms of location may not be “nice” in terms of other aspects, such as social life, dorm size, dorm type, or LLC. Asking someone to “rank the dorms in order of nicety” is something that is subjective between EVERY person. If you’d like to narrow down your criteria, then I’m sure you can find comparisons on the UNC Housing website.

Speaking of the deadline, does anyone know when we are to receive our housing assignments? (I have looked…everywhere bahaha, I can’t seem to find it XD)

I heard mid-June, like… June 15th. I think. I might just be making that up. XD

I submitted my housing app weeks ago but yesterday when I went to the myhousing site it appeared that I hadn’t filled it out?

Is this normal?

Old East. (10 char)
