which are the best freshman dorms on campus?

Most freshman live in the Quad. That is where my daughter lives. She has a roommate, and likes it there. She likes the opportunity to meet, and get to know so many other freshman. It has allowed her to make a lot of friends quickly.

There are several other places that freshmen can live, but I can only speak to my daughter’s experience.

Penn dorms, at least the physical facilities themselves, are unfortunately pretty bad. The high-rises that you’d live in if you stayed in housing for sophomore year & above are decent but not great. The freshmen dorms like the Quad and Hill are in a pretty bad state.

Socially though either the Quad or Hill would be your best bet. As Much2learn said you will make friends easily.

Freshman year is really about friends and connections. Awesome friends are way better than an awesome room for most people.

The accommodations aren’t great but they are okay, it is more about bonding with peers and being close to your classes. Even when she calls us on the weekend, there are students stopping by to see her every 15 minutes it seems.

My son is in the quad and it is OK, but nothing spectacular. He already has a contract for renting a house with some buddies for next year…
