Best Double Major

I'm currently deciding between Wash U.'s viscom program and the RISD/Brown program (waitlisted at Brown). Either way I hope to get a degree in graphic design and something more academic. I'm hoping to eventually work in magazine design, advertisign, or as an art director. My question is, what second degree will be the most helpful? Physcology, English, Art History? What will make my skills most marketable? I need something to give me an edge over the scores of other graphic design majors out there.

Psychology, English, and Art History are all pretty theoretical, so none of them would actually give you an “edge”, imho. Experience might…

I hesitated in answering this because I am not an expert. However, I feel whoever hires you will expect you to use your graphic design skills to bring in business and customers. I think a business related major or courses (ie advertising, marketing) will give you an edge.
