Best EC's for Harvard?

What are the best or great Extra Curricular activities you have heard of someone participating in?

Cheers.

ElWilson you taken any SATs yet?

As for ECs, just try out everything on offer at school, area etc. and pick a few you really enjoy and work at them. That's all you can do. Hopefully you already have a few you can work on.

Crew is the best. The recruit for that.

Rowing? Good. I row at Henley.

No. Crew. Not rowing.

Senate page.

What's crew?

Do they recruit for rowing?

Crew is the name of the sport where oyu have eight, six, or four people in a boat racing another boat a la Viking.

Isn't rowing just like, rowing and not actual teamwork, etc?

Anywyas, they recruit for crew, but mostly from New England prep schools. Je pense.

Nah rowing involves teamwork. I'm pretty much going to have to learn a new language if I come over to America.

Henley won't be enough to get recruited. If you'd seen the quality of a Harvard eight, you'd see why. It's gotta be Junior Worlds, Coupe at a push.

UKRUS, what is Coupe? And do you know what, in the way of stats, one needs to get recruited for men's crew at Harvard (erg scores etc)?

Olympic ice hockey medal; not speedskating.

I think my IMO gold medal helped me a lot.

Coupe de la Jeunesse is the international event you go to if you just miss out on the squad for the Junior World Championships.

I can't really give you any useful stats because it depends so much on how much you weigh, how well you row, plus I only know a couple of scores very vaguely. I can just repeat that the only guy I know who was properly recruited (i.e. got in despite average academics) went to Junior Worlds in his penultimate year of school - pretty damn good. Of the two other guys I know who made it with rowing as a big selling point, one made Junior Worlds in his penultimate year, the other made Coupe.

The standard really is very high - the Harvard eight beat GB a few years ago!

Thanks very much.

Swimming is the best. The times are individual. They speak for themselves.
