What are the top 5 universities for engineering in New York (not including NYC)? This is what I think so far:
1. Cornell
2. RPI
3. SUNY-Buffalo
4. U of Rochester
5. Syracuse
Anyone have a different ranking in mind or other suggestions?

Bump… Any other good engineering colleges in New York? Is my ranking correct?

Bump bump bump

I read that Stony Brook is also good for Engineering. We’ve been searching for my son.

not sure if SUNY buffalo is as high as you put it for engineering,

Cooper Union.

3/2 programs…SUNY Geneseo/Columbia University

https://www.geneseo.edu/admissions/cooperative-engineering-brochure

What type of engineering? What is “best” ? H has been hiring engineers for many years & where they went to school never even comes into play when they decide to hire!

Other NYS schools that offer engineering:

Clarkson University
Union College
Alfred University
Syracuse University
Rochester Institute of Technology

Would depend on what type of engineering you are interested in, rural, urban, suburban, etc. Interested in need-based aid, merit aid, Greek Life or not, size of school & so on.

I see that Alfred is offering a new minor called “Renewable Energy Engineering.”

Best of luck in your college search!

If it’s nano engineering there is only 1 college. SUNY Albany.
