Best film programs out of UCSB, UCSD, UCI & UCSC

If I were to focus on writing and directing which school would suit me best: UCSB, UCSD, UCI or UCSC? I know there are better schools out there but these are realistic for me.

I'm in the same boat as well, contemplating between UCSB and UCI. Anybody out there have any input as to which film program is the better of the two (four including UCSD, UCSC)?

hey siberia88 , i am communications major but i first thought of doing fiilm too, i persoanlly liked the media something major at ucsd because in ucsb(From what i read at assist.org) it's more... analytical and stuff, not a lot of "hands on' material..
does uc irvine have a film program? i didn't find one when i looked up at their majors.

and ucsc.. i don't think their film program is really good.

your two best choices would be sd and sb

if i had decided to go for firlm i would have chosen ucsd and to be in sixth college( that's the one i got into..GO SIXTH" culture arts and techonology..

i'm happy i was accepted at ucsd.. if i don' really like communications i'm going to change my major to media arts!

Cool. I got into Sixth as a Visual Arts (Media) major as well. I live a few feet away fom UCI and it has no film program unless you want to focus on screenwriting only, in which case it wouldn't be bad. I ruled out UCSC. UCSB is building this huge film department although I think they're still building it so unless I get into UCLA it's UCSD for me.

UCLA is a great film school good luck i hope you get in

if u don't.. see u in SD .. go sixth!

Thanks. Probably see you in sixth.
