Best football team in California?

Stanford - best qb in the nation

U$C - can't argue with tradition

Fresno State - nearly upset top ranked USC in 2005, beat UCLA in 2008, don't be too shocked when they upset Cal week 1 this year

Cal - caught a bit of their practice at laney college this summer and they are massive on D but average at QB

San Diego state - departure of their coach is a negative but they're an up and coming school.

UCLA - personal bias, basketball school

Cal poly slo and UC Davis have a healthy rivalry but both are FCS teams. Am I missing any?

Ive been to a few USC games and that campus is rocking on gameday. Plus snoop dogg and will ferrell always on the sideline. The rose bowl is best venue. The Big Game between Cal and Stanford is a classic rivalry.

What university do you think has the best school spirit, team, and atmosphere on Saturdays?

Just one quick question: does this have anything to do with the UC transfers? -,-

OMG sparky, i am saying!

the heck does this have to do with anything. were are worrying about academics and acceptances not squandering around with sports and ignorant rivalry.

if any of those on the list are relevant, its UC Berkeley & UCLA.

After Doug Flutie’s hail mary pass to beat Miami in 1984, Boston University had a 30% increase in applications…

University of Florida had a 10.73% increase in applications after both the football and basketball team won national championships in 2006. In 2007, After Tim Tebow received the Heisman Trophy, the University had an increase of 9.78%.

I guess that the small percentage of applicants who post on here don’t factor in sports success, but many do. People compare schools on here all the time, is this not another factor in the decision process to discuss? I have multiple friends at UC Irvine who lament the fact they don’t have a football team.

Not a waste of time IMO, and a discussion absolutely worth having.

Forgot San Jose State. #7 imo

sports does not make the university, wtheck?

this thread is totally irrelevant.

USC has the best spirit/football team.

Tailgate throughout the state. You’ll see that USC has the most spirit, and the most fun.

Sport does not make the University, but school spirit does. We have strong academics, sports, spirit and a Trojan network. Beat that.

Despite the beat down they suffered in New England last Sunday, the San Diego Chargers are still probably the best football team in the state of California.

I have to disagree with you Lemaitre. The best team did indeed win; The New England Patriots. Plus the Raiders beat up on the Chargers last year, so until we (raidernation) lose were on top!

I went to my first UCLA game as a student. It was fun to sit in The Den, but our team is not so good. I’m lookin forward to Basketball.
