Best for pre-Law? UC Davis v. Irvine v. Santa Barbara

Out of these three, which would you guys recommend for someone extremely interested in Law? UCD? UCI? or UCSB?

My uneducated opinion would be to pick the one where you feel most comfortable. I think finding the environment that suits you will help you perform academically. As far as reputation goes, these schools are supposed to have very different environments, I can’t tell you how accurate the reputation is though. Bottom line (still my uneducated opinion), law schools want to see (in rough order of importance) a good lsat and gpa, writing skills, some letters of rec from profs and some decent extracurriculars (less important). I think these are more easily attained when you are content with your surroundings.

I’m sure someone else can help you with specifics about the schools you listed (or maybe just tell you why i’m wrong).

All are about equal in undergraduate education. I would pick Davis because they have a Law School I believe. You could try and take classes there or work with a Professor. Though you might find better internships at UC Irvine.

Doesn’t matter. Your law school applications will come down to LSAT, GPA and extracurriculars. Go to a school where you will not have to expend a lot of money to survive, as you’ll be taking on a lot of debt in law school. Make sure you pick a major that will be somewhat outside of the traditional law school majors: if you pick a sciencey major, for example, you will be eligible to take the patent bar, if you at all have an interest in patents. A BS will look better than a BA to a law school.

i went to uc irvine over davis and sb because i liked the area and campus better.

in terms of prep for law school, it doesn’t matter. go to the school you favor and just do your best to get a high gpa. lsats and gpa are pretty much everything in the admissions process.

thank a lot guys. Im gonna go to UC and save my $$ for grad school.
thanks again,
