^ I forgot to mention ATO, which probably has the toughest pledging on campus and they hit it hard on the weekends. They’re actually on probation at the moment so technically they don’t have a house but they’ll get one back soon. Most of the brothers live in the 10th and college apartments.

Lots of misguided posts…

The fact of the matter is the majority of kids in college drink. Every fraternity parties, be it the business fraternities or social fraternities. While some may not party at there house or do not have a house…i can say with almost a 100 percent certainty they still party. If you join one of these organizations you do not need to party but the idea of “social” fraternities incorporate parties, in addition to friendship, sometimes living arrangements, philanthropy and professional development through networking.

The rush process varies by fraternity completely.

The pledgeship process varies by fraternity but I can say pledgeship is becoming more and more tamed across the country and across IU due to many of the fraternities on a national level cracking down on individual chapters to decrease liability.

While fraternities are not for everyone, I would still highly suggest anybody with the slightest interest to go through rush. Rush involves attending parties or social functions where one meets the members/brothers of the house/fraternal organization. Ideally you find a group of guys that match your personality and interests. The greek system is a great way to meet people especially if you’re an out of state student. If you go through the rush process and do not find a “fit” or it does not interest you then at least you know.

PM me if you have questions

Are the kappa sigs completely wild to the point of it being a bad thing? Or do they have a good reputation on campus?

^None of the frats are ** that ** crazy. But I’d say Kappa Sig is in the top few along with Acacia.

Figured this may add to this discussion;

Sig Ep is awesome. a lot of the guys don’t drink. and honestly i don’t drink, but i’m in a sorority and i have a blast at the parties. it’s all about meeting people and making friends. sure some people have other intentions, but he can find a group of people to hang with. he should also try the campus church groups or a nearby church- i go to High Rock
