I know it's controversial as to whether or not vocabulary lists will raise SAT scores, but for those of us who have a lot of time on our hands waiting around, a list that can be turned into flashcards would be very useful. Any suggestions? A google search gives tons of results, but some of them have the wrong definitions and others use words that are easy and I already know or too difficult that I know would never show up on an SAT.

If you’re looking for more challenging words, there are a couple good lists in this thread:

I learned these 250 and felt really confident about the vocab on my June test. I didn’t miss any vocab questions on the practice test after I learned these either

I’m using Sparknotes 1000. Also, I’ll be ordering Direct Hits (both volumes) when the new version are released in July/August.

Thanks! I’ve been using sparknotes and I really like that list I haven’t seen the 250 list just the 1000 one. Thanks for the link rk33.

I know a lot of people recommend derivatives, but I’ve found that when I’m under pressure having a formal definition calms my nerves a bit. Plus it’s much faster than trying to pick apart words!

That thread looks interesting too! Thanks 112358!
