which r the best?
when do u get to pick?

You will pick them on August!
Math Writing seminar i heard was one of the best.

Has the list of freshman writing seminars for 2006-07 been published yet?

Mystery in the Story was very good

i hear that everyone at cornell hates the writing first year semiars

I don't think the list will be published until Aug 1...that's when it was for us...

it took some time searching but this is what i found
http://www.arts.cornell.edu/knight_institute/Spring2004/list_department.html

Well, we hate them while we're in them, but in retrospect some of them are very enjoyable. I often cursed my writing seminar on Blues music/culture. (not the seminar, itself, but rather actually writing the papers, haha) In retrospect, not only did it improve my writing in terms of organization, but, also, the course was well laid out, the music was awesome (we got to listen to cream and led zeppelin and stuff), and I learned a rediculous amount about blues. It's a good course, the instructor is really cool, (she likes hip hop heheh) and there aren't that many big papers. It's MUSIC 111.2. MUSIC 111.1 is supposed to be awesomer and easier (jazz fusion), and the professor is an awesome dude, my future faculty advisor for my music major.

u can opt out of seminars with ap credit right?

You can opt out of one seminar if you get a 5 on AP English exam.

you can opt out of both in CALS, right?

That list is old - it is from Spring 2004. I found this for Spring 2006 http://www.artsreports.cornell.edu/viewballot/SP2006_Brochure.pdf .

are they curved on like a B-..... or easy A?

mine wasn't an easy A, I worked really hard and got an A-, and I think most people got around a B (B-, B+), however, I am sure that there are some that are easy A's, and I am also sure that you could get one where you would be lucky to get even a B, so it depends. Writing seminars are really luck of the draw. You'll either get your top choice or not. You'll either have an easy one or a hard one. You'll either like it or you won't.

yeah, mine was a total pain and NOT an easy A, we had to wirte like 6 5-7 page papers in a matter of 12 weeks, it was absolutely insane, this lady also wanted rough drafts (graded them too), mandatory rewrites, total pain!!

what r u th easy A seminars i don't care if its boring i want an A

Instead of telling us the "easy A seminars", please tell us which ones are the hard ones. I think it'd be easier that way.

tell both because even if u know some hard ones u don't know them all duh
