Hi, I'm looking for the best full-ride scholarships from around the country because I likely won't be able to pay for college. I made a 2400 on the SAT and carry a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I've taken 10 AP classes throughout high school and have played on the Varsity football team every year. I'm involved with some other extracurriculars, but not many. I'm looking to go to a good--not elite, but definitely good--school. But the thing is...I'm looking for scholarships that will cover the whole way or nearly that. Thanks in advance, and any information helps!

Bump cause I want to know to

going to a school in which you are far above average will definitely help with aid.

There are schools such as Alabama University that offer automatic scholarships. If you meet the criteria, you automatically get the money.
full tuition for ACT 30/SAT 1320 (Math & CR) and GPA 3.5

There are also other schools like this, just google automatic scholarships, or search it on cc

If you are socioeconomically disadvantaged, definitely look into QuestBridge.

Northeastern gives full rides to national merit finalists, I believe, which isn’t that bad of a school. But, I would just apply for a ton of scholarships. Chances are that most wont reject you.

jhupost, whats your math/cr? the 2400 is really meaningless.

^ A 2400 implies an 800 on eavery section, so math/cr would be 1600.

I understand wanting to go to college on a free ride, we financially could not send our daughter at all either. However, I think you are going about this wrong. Going to any college that can give you a free ride does not equal sucess. I think first you should consider what you want to do and where you want to do it then make that happen. Once my daughter chose someplace that was a definate no she made it happen by applying to many scholarships. She has gotten enough now to cover all 4 years. She was able to accomplish it by knowing what she wanted and striving for it which makes it a sucess for her already. Also, i don’t think she’ll do poorly because she worked so far for it.
Take Care,
Lisa

BTW: A lot of college have full ride scholarships if you apply early & compete for them. She was a finalist at Catawba for one then decided she wanted to go to Winthrop. I will admit it was a heart stopping moment for me knowing she was giving up the opportunity and I could not pay for what she wanted but she did it!
