Best Housing at Berkeley?

I was wondering if people could share a bit about what they know about each dorm and the benefits/drawbacks. Is there a clear favorite? Thanks :)

Look at the campus map (bottom area: Unit1,2,3/ Clark Kerr vs top right corner: Foothill/Bowles/Stern)

[UC Berkeley - Large campus map](http://berkeley.edu/map/maps/large_map.html)

See location wise, where you want to live at (will you have classes near Northside? Or Southside? If walking doesn’t matter, then location won’t matter much here)

Noise level? Northside = tends to be much more quiet vs Southside = a tad noisier with crowds leaving from parties…

Food wise? Crossroads tend to be worst than Foothill overall. Crossroads = more options, Foothill = less options.

Where is Clark Kerr? Unless you have the money, don’t go for Clark Kerr… it’s pretty far from campus (if you walk from Clark Kerr to Northside, that probably takes a good 20-30mn…). I have not seen inside Clark Kerr, but I heard that it is pretty good. They got an ice rink last semester?
