Looking at housing for next year but I’m not sure what my best options are. Hoping to stay on campus, but I would like to hear about off campus living as well. Thanks!
Off campus housing is going quickly. Just signed a lease today for our freshman son to live off campus in the Campus View complex in downtown (walkable to campus). They have very little availability as of today.
I’ve read that larger groups have priority in obtaining on-campus housing, so if your student can get a group of 4 to agree to be roommates, that would improve their chances.
Having to learn about and quickly research with a very busy freshman from NJ so soon after he started college was an unwelcome surprise. I focused on this over the past 2 days, and spent a lot of concentrated effort today after I realized options were disappearing quickly.
(Happy to share my thought process and where we considered and why, if you’re interested.)
Good luck to you!
My daughter in a very nice 4 bedroom apartment in Douthit.
It has 2 bathrooms a full kitchen and even a washer and dryer in the unit. We told her she will not live a place this nice when she graduates and is working. They get the feel of an off campus apartment but at the same time get the benefit of on campus location.
