Which are the best dorms for freshman and why?

Use the forum's search function.

how are singles at couzens?

I think I've heard discussion that the hill are best dorms.

Really? i thought the dorms in the hill area were the worst.

I got a single at couzens. the room is supposedly 8 x 12, which is too small for my liking. furhermore, couzens doesnt even have a dining hall, so im forced to walk across Palmer field to the new dining hall they recently made. I dont even think couzens has laundry facilities, although im not sure. and, couzens and alice lloyd(right next to couzens) are so far away from most of the lecture halls and class rooms compared to central campus dorms like south quad and west quad.

Generations of Michigan students have lived on the hill and managed quite nicely. No doubt, it is a cold trek across that bridge every day in the winter, but other than that, it was a great experience, The new dining hall is supposed to be wonderful, you will meet a lot of great kids, who will be walking the same direction you are, and you will manage to get to your classes on time. Don't worry so much.

Yes, the new dining center at Mosher Jordan (the Hill Dining Center) is supposed to be really good. I've actually never gone but I've had tons of friends who have. Personally, I don't mind North Campus much... I live in Bursley, food is supposed to be the best here besides at MoJo (mosher jordan)

I've been to the new dinning hall plenty of times. It's nothing special.

I live in Markley. To be honest, I like the food at Markley better. We have make-your-own Pizza.

where are the best single person dorms? or are dorms pretty much the same for whatever capacity?

Central dorms (west and south quad) are best for location, but hill dorms (like Markley, Lloyd, etc.) are way better for meeting people. I would pick a hill dorm if given the chance for sure, even if it's a farther walk to class.
