Best Jobs in America List

Three engineering disciplines and two tech jobs in the top ten. Let's see how quickly people start criticizing the choices, lol.

Software Architect: #1 haha! My boss this summer was a software architect. A very serious yet brilliant guy from Ireland with great humor. He worked 14 hours a day though… easily over 70 (perhaps over 80) hours a week including 6 hours of meeting a day. And he was the architect a $60 million software project among others. One thing is good though: people like him are unlikely to be offshored. But who knows!

Surprised that medicine is not listed here. In any case, I think that the job growth figures are highly inflated (or perhaps not corrected for outsourcing).

Wow, three minutes, excellent!

The best job in America is to be the son / daughter of Bill Gates.

there are few medical jobs on there…being a physician is supposed to be stressful, so maybe that why it’s not on there

those are ten-year forecasts…and how can they “corrected”? outsourcing is sending stuff overseas to be done, not bringing workers in on an H1B visa

anyways…what’s the difference b/n a software engineer and a software architect?

I meant medicine as in being a doctor not being in the top 10.

These are different medical (doctor) jobs:
Emergency Room Physician 25
Psychiatrist 29
Primary Care Physician 34
Anesthesiologist 68
General Surgeon 75

^ Long hours and heavy stress load probably account for that.
