whats the best labtop out there for a decent price??
my is driving me crazyy b/c not accepting linksys wireless connection!
if there are any techies out there...HELP!

SONY VAIO..........theres nothing better than a vaio......you could get a vaio from 2500 to 3000

LABtop??? I'd go with black or yellow over chocolate.

What will you use the laptop for? There are gaming laptops, surfing laptops, graphic design laptops...

Check out BestBuy's website, google a bit.
Do you have prior experience in Mac or PC?

you have to call linksys up.....they will help you set it up......i would help you but....its not safe to give out your ip adress and plus i use d-link, so i dont know linksy's Internet Protocol (TCIP/IP) Preffered DNAS Server ip address

I wonder why "labtop" is such a common misspelling. I mean I hear everyone type/write it that way all the time.

well i have a fujitsu for about 2000.... or get apple maybe?

Okay this is an interesting thread, espcially since its misspelled. Thats cool, I can't spell for my life. Okay BestMiler1 I have to disagree with you about the Sony Vaios. They are merely overpriced pieces of junk (I won't rant cause then it would get ugly.) Sony charges you all the extra money for the name. Now run fo cova (nice name by the way) like BestMiler1 said you have to call them up, Linksy's stuff is usually easy to setup just give them a call. Oh by the way BestMiler1 nice with DNS server stuff, few people know that stuff. Wow this post is long but I didnt really say anything meaningful, opps srry.

Yay. I use D-Link as well, but on a Dell laptop.

I'm a mac user, and I love Apple products. My little iBook is awesome and never experiences issues with connecting to networks or freezing, etc. I'd definitely recommend you look at the Apple laptops!

funny thing is, I'm debating over a few laptops myself.

Well, xoirene has a nice point. For a few extra hundred bucks, u can get a mac, which are nice since they use intel laptop chips now. advantages to a mac include near-immunity against viruses even without updating your virus protection. that alone is worth a bundle.

If you want a PC:

ASUS is a generally unknown laptop producer, but trust me, they know how to make laptops. In fact, larger producers actually sign contracts with them so ASUS manufactures the computer with the other company's name on it.

Sorry i couldn't offer more, but I'm more of an ultraportable fan. If you want to get one of those I could help you out a bit more.

A tangerine iBook.

www.powernotebooks.com
havent bought anything from them, but the last time i checked resellerratings.com, they had awesome reviews. Theyre laptops are pretty cheap too.

omg i called linksys up and they told me to call dell (my computer) ... so i did and they told me to call linksys back! neither can help and its so stupid b/c its probabally a common problem

you need to call linksys.....its a router problem not with the computer

yeah, linksys is horrible. By the way, I'd go with an iBook. I have a powerbook, but the iBooks have better battery life.

Install some flavor of Linux. It's so much better than Windows for laptops (that's "laptop," not "labtop.")

Vaio for size, convenience, function. Dell is heavy, ugly and ungainly.
