<p>I agree to an extent, but I also have a problem with some of your premises. I have noticed a strong negative correlation with brains and beauty in most populations of females (sorry if that sounds very sexist.) This leads me to believe that the one good looking guy may not even necessarily want the one good looking girl because of her lack of other good qualities. Couple this with the idea that some females focus more upon emotional characteristics and intelligence, rather than the aesthetic appeal of a potential mate, and the one good looking guy at a college probably won’t get the one good looking girl (of course, the use of the term “one” is hyperbole, but you see where I’m going.)</p>

<p>This is just a male perspective; ladies should feel free to chime in.</p>

<p>Incidentally, my safety schools is an A+. This vexes me.</p>

<p>Looks are nothing without charm, intellect, and the ability to cook.
The opposite holds true, perhaps even more so. Because what (good looking) guy wants ugly babies (all because of an ugly girl)?</p>

<p>This is not correct. A recent study found a positive correlation between attractiveness and intelligence; I wish I could cite it for you, but I don’t remember where the link is. This can be checked with various sources of information. I confirmed this personally with my own observational study using randomly selected girls (who I knew well enough to classify intelligence, which may have biased the results) from the People section of my high school yearbook.</p>
