Best Major to Complement Journalism?

I want to major in journalism (with a concentration in Advertising), but would like to take a double major or minor to become more well-rounded, and to serve as a kind of backup plan due to the infamous perils of finding prosperous employment with a degree in communication. Any suggestions?

Polisci, history, and economics are all common double-majors/minors. Anything, really, though I would say the above three are probably some of the most common. A lot of times people will major in something that goes hand in hand with what they want to specialize in (political journalism, tech journalism, international journalism, etc.)

Thank you, you mentioned the major being related to specialization, if I wanted to work in advertising, would a business major or minor be helpful? What degree would pair best with advertising in particular?

Business would probably be most relevant and could be useful.
