<p>I really want to go to UNC, but I'm OOS (so more expensive). My dad isnt totally on board with me going to an OOS college unless its particularly good in a specific area that I want to study. I was open to anything math/science related, so I looked up engineering, but UNC is not known for that, and business where they are ranked 17. (Keep in mind I dont care for the rankings, but my dad cares about them alot in allowing me to go to a specific college)..</p>
<p>I heard the pre-med program is really good at UNC but I'm not sure I'm willing to go down that path... maybe just the a chem/bio degree? (but my dad insists on a high paying major)..</p>
<p>no english related majors haha although I do enjoy reading ALOT about sports, thats it.</p>
<p>So do you guys see my dilemma? Any ideas? Thanks!</p>
<p>Engineering isn’t strong at UNC because the state legislature preferentially funds the engineering program at NC State (regarded as #2 public in NC).</p>
<p>Library science (#1 in the nation), computer science (#20), Psychology(#13), Political science (#13), public health, including an undergrad biostats in the school of public health(#2), sociology (#5) might be better choices. </p>
<p>Also the undergraduate business program is ranked substantially higher than the graduate business programs in the USNWR. Ranked 7th in undergrad as opposed to teens for graduate program.</p>
