<p>^ As I wrote before, how bad can I feel that my alma mater (where I did NOT major in math) is very highly ranked by the Gourman Report? But it would be the “fallacy of personal validation” to consider a ranking correct because it identifies one’s alma mater as a top college. (I see this fallacy a lot in this forum, applied to various ranking lists.) All rankings are debatable. Some are, in addition to being debatable, sufficiently nontransparent that it is hard to know what goes into them. But, yeah, keep on telling me that my alma mater is a great college at which to major in math. </p>
