Would any of the former students or current students happen to know who teach the best for math and physics? I dont know what math im taking but i think i got a 4 on the ap calc bc exam so yeh. w.e is after those credits. thanks~

Malmendier, Pahlajani, and Cooper for Math

Ottman for Math.

Don’t even attempt Akemann.

Most Valuable tool ever: [University of California Santa Barbara - California](http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/SelectTeacher.jsp?sid=1077)

It’s is how you choose your classes.

Yeah Akemann is a nightmare…it my worst class of college

I’m gonna go ahead and completely disagree with ucsbpremed. Cooper and Pahlajani are just ridiculously easy, you don’t actually learn anything in their classes. I have no idea about Malmendier.

I do, however, agree with Muserz. Ottman is a really good mix of somewhat difficult but a very very good teacher. And although I agree that Akemann was a terrible teacher, his class was actually really easy. Most people just didn’t study so they didn’t pass his class because he didn’t curve. Although he had an abnormally high number of Fs, he also had a lot of As.

My current teacher, Millett, was a terrible professor. Avoid him too.

As for Physics…

It might pain me a little to say it, but Freedman was a really good professor. An extremely challenging one, but a good one nevertheless. I felt like he taught me not only just Physics, but an extremely strong approach to Physics. I was a lot less intimidated the second time around.

Fygenson is terrible. Didn’t learn a single thing from her. Mazin was pretty bad too. But you’re inevitably gonna get bad teachers in any subject, no matter how hard you try to avoid them.
