Best Mathematics School?

Hi, I've tried searching for rankings by mathematics programs but really haven't found much.

By mathematics i mean pure mathematics, not applied.

What do you think the best math schools are?

I am looking around NJ, NY, PA, CT, etc, but feel free to list what you think are the best schools for mathematics.

I saw on another thread: http://www.grad.berkeley.edu/publications/pdf/nrc_rankings_1995.pdf

Also, Harvard is pretty amazing in math.

wa bout Waterloo in Canada? Arent they pretty good too.

1 Princeton 4.94
3 MIT 4.92
4 Harvard 4.90
7 Yale 4.55
8 NYU 4.49
10 Columbia 4.23

UC Berkley
University of Chicago

One thing I would suggest looking at is the number of ugrad math majors at each school. I am not sure how you find out that info except to ask when you visit. (anybody know how to find that out on the web - Common data set?). One thing for sure though is that UChicago graduated 76 math majors in 2005 (my S was one of them). When my S started there in 2001, they had had 50 math majors in the 2001 graduating class. Stanford had only 4 math majors that year! I don't know the number for 2005.

I second University of Waterloo in Ontario, its the most respected math/computer science degree here

zOsO's list, its great but a little dated
