Best MBA program outside US

Can anyone tell me which schools' MBA program are regarded in the top gear OUTSIDE of US? I know quite a little about the outside world I am afraid...

Probably INSEAD.

London Business School

INSEAD is considered the best non-US b-school.

i:*

coo! how about RSM or Cass? has anyone applied there? does anyone think doing a MBA outside US is a smart move?

depends. if you live in the US and plan to work in a company that will keep you in the US (i.e. no intentions to work abroad), then an MBA outside of the US makes little sense (now that is not to say that if you have an MBA from an international program that you couldn’t make it in the US – just that you are spoiled for choice on your home court). at the same time, if you have always wanted to study abroad in, say, London (LBS) or Paris (INSEAD) or Switzerland (IMD) –> and you are good enough to get into one of those top programs, that is certainly worth considering.

now if you have every intention to work or even live and work abroad, then an MBA from one of the top international programs will serve you very well. the considerations, however, are not unlike those facing MBA choices in the US – i.e. you really do want to go to the best program that you can (for recruiting / alumni networking purposes).

i currently live and work abroad and have met a number of INSEAD / LBS grads and have been very impressed.

That’s very helpful many thanks!

Apart from LSB, INSEAD and IMD, can you recommend more? Say, if I cannot get into one of the top European b-schools, are there any other quality options???

this is a good place to start:

FT’s Global MBA Ranking:
[Business school rankings and MBA rankings from the Financial Times](http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/global-mba-rankings)

The top 5 non-US MBA programs in FT’s latest global ranking:

LBS (UK)

INSEAD (France / Singapore)

IE Business School (Spain)

Ceibs (China)

IESE (Spain)

China sounds interesting! That leads to another question:

What is it like to study in an top Asian school? Say, from a business prospective point of view, is a degree from the emerging market going to be global-recognized??

Sorry about having so many questions… but you seem to know the world of MBA quite well!

i’ve never studied in Asia, so I really couldn’t comment on that.

INSEAD, again, would be a top choice if you were interested in Asia as they have an Asian campus (Singapore) in addition to their flagship campus in France.
