Which one should I apply to? My major is undeclared but I like sociology.
It really depends on your personal choice. For instance, there is one focus on community service.
If I become part of the Honors Program, is there a point in joining one of the MLCs?
If you choose honor housing, then I don’t see how you pick another MLC.
I don’t think you can do honors and a MLC. I’m a freshman in MCSP (the community service and social justice MLC). Unfortunately/fortunately, we really do not do much. The program is poorly ran and has several course requirements. Living in East Quad has been a massive perk though. We will be in the currently being renovated West Quad in the fall. Also, the students in the program are all very genuine and laid back people.
@miw140 Wow thanks. Okay, if I don’t get into Honors, I’ll apply for MCSP.
You could do RC, but that has a significant language requirement. Housing is good in all of them, I think.
Thanks. I’ll think about it.
You can be both a student in the Honors Program and an MLC. You just wouldn’t live with the Honors program people in South Quad. The honors program doesn’t have a live-in requirement. I’m a student in the Residential College and the Honors Program; I lived with the RC because they do have a live-in requirement. My status in Honors wasn’t affected.
Thanks
Hi. I didn’t get into Honors. I’m gonna apply to Lloyd and Community Scholars! Does anyone know how the application is reviewed? Do they look at my college application?
Bringing up this thread from last month because I don’t want to start a new one:
Are MLCs just for freshmen/sophomores? I’ll be transferring in as a junior/third year in the Fall.
I see them being mentioned, but I’m not sure if it’s something I should look into.
