best minor for a cs major

<p>I know that is no single best minor for a cs major, and that alot depends on your interests, but what minors might best help a cs-major career-wise?</p>

<p>Math, Business, Physics, Graphic Design, …</p>

<p>Mathematics.</p>

<p>At my school, cs major has to take only 2 more 400 level math courses to get a minor in math.</p>

<p>The math major may be the easiest as there are already so many math courses in the CS major. Some of the math courses may actually enhance the CS major. Examples are abstract algebra, number theory, linear algebra and mathematical modeling.</p>

<p>Out of curiosity, what kind of classes are taken as a business minor? And what benefits do they give in terms of a CS-related job?</p>

<p>Mathematics?</p>

<p>Business classes: Basic management for managing a large IT project or for deciding if a software product will be profitable and commercially viable. Studying how organizations use computer systems, what makes people more productive, information flow in companies, risk management, change management, records retention/archiving, information security/privacy issues, business accountability, ethics. E-commerce. Parkinson’s Law, Murphy’s Law, Moore’s Law.</p>
