Best Move In

Hello everyone! Move in starts at 10AM but if I plan to come at 9AM, will there be a long line ahead of me?

I’d like to know this too so bump!

Also, I am living in Bowles in an RH quad (which is a four-person suite composed of two doubles). What day am I moving in?

I didn’t arrive for my move-in super early, so I can’t attest to whether there was a huge line, but I don’t think you’ll have too much line troubles if you truly get there an hour early. From what I remember peak times were right when move-in started and then sometime in the afternoon. I think I got there around 11:30 and I had no problems whatsoever with lines, but then a couple hours later it was madness.

Bowles moves in on the second day of move-in.

^Correction: Bowles moves in on the first day, which is the 20th.

^This is from Fall 2010, my year in the dorms, and Bowles/FH/Stern moved in the second day. They might have changed the way they organized things, but I’m just throwing this out there!

I wouldn’t necessarily trust the sites from the individual residence halls… The Unit 1 page that is analogous to your Bowles page (http://unit1.berkeley.edu/opening_fall/index.html</a>) is still claiming move-in is on “Saturday Aug 23 and Sunday Aug 24.” Which, obviously, doesn’t make much sense if you look at the 2011 calendar. Since the page you referenced also looks like it hasn’t been updated in awhile, and doesn’t have a year or even day of the week next to the date, I’d call housing to confirm it… I tried to do some snooping for you guys as to spelled out info for when move-in is for Unit 4, Fall 2011 but I couldn’t find anything. And when you give 'em a call, go ahead and tell them to get their lazy butts on all these web sites and make information like this organized and clear. Seriously, they need new people in charge of these web sites. :)
