What's the best Ohio school for biology? My son wants to do environmental science/biology with ambitions of graduate school and a career in research. Public and private schools.

Case Western and Oberlin are especially good for bio.

I have trouble believing Ohio State doesn’t have a good bio program. Here is a post with Gourman Rankings: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/591556-does-anyone-know-undergraduate-rankings-biology.html

Case Western is an outstanding option and Ohio State offers great value. Both schools have great reputations for their biology programs. If you are interested in a smaller LAC in Ohio for biology, you may want to consider Kenyon. I was very impressed with their science facilities.

There are many excellent Biology/Life Sciences departments. In Ohio, also consider these:

College of Wooster
Miami University
Ohio Wesleyan University

Denison has a highly reputable biology department with a focus on organismal biology and environmental science; it would certainly be worth a look.

As a bonus, it is quite generous with merit aid to qualified applicants.
