Best Olympiad to prepare for that looks good on college

I am debating whether to prepare for Physics Olympiad or the Computing Olympiad. Which Olympiad would be better for me if I had to prepare for only one of them (I like programming and physics roughly the same; I like programming a little bit better). I probably would be USACO gold and Physics Olympiad Semifinalist if I prepared.

Which one would have the most potential for success?

You should do the one you like the best.

If you’re planning on doing an olympiad just because it’ll look good on college apps, then you’re doing it for the wrong reasons.

Yes, I will honetly admit that without the added incentive that it looks good on college, I probably would not do it. However, I am genuinely interested in both of them

Why not both? I had friends in high school who did USAMO, USABO, Physics, Computing, Astronomy, Programming, and Computational Linguistics—all either studied legitimately or just for fun.

Wait hold up. Is astronomy olympiad actually legitimate. Cuz it seems like a relatively small olympiad (like rly rly small). I happen to be a huge astronomy and physics geek tho.

Astronomy Olympiad barely helps you since it’s not well known in the US at all. Physics Olympiad is probably the second most well known

If you’re doing it for admissions, do the one where you’ll do the best.
