Which would you say would help me get to med school more?

Michigan has more prestige and is higher ranked. Their medical school acceptance rate is 65%. If I went here I would consider joining the health scholars residential college.

Xaiver is smaller and much more personalized. Their medical school acceptance rate is 81%.

Don’t choose a school based off other kids’ success (as in, acceptance rates). First and foremost, these numbers could mean anything and are practically useless because they can be manipulated any way the college wants to. Second, just because someone else does well at a certain school doesn’t mean you will. Michigan’s prestige and rank will be of little use getting in med school, so don’t base your decision on that alone, either. Would you prefer the mass of people and big campus feel of Michigan or the small and personalized feel of Xavier? You will have to be the one to answer which will be better for you.

Definitely don’t choose based on the acceptance rate. It is very easy to manipulate that number, if U of M wasn’t a state school, it could easily modify its acceptance rate by basically forcing anyone that didn’t meet there standard to not apply until after they graduate. Pick on fit, are you a big sports fan? U of M might be a better place for that if you want that big crazy college sports fan experience. Xavier has great sports too, but U of M attendance to games is probably more than the entire population of Xavier at times.
