Best Pharmacy Program?

Hi, I am currently junior in high school and I will be graduating in 2017. I was wondering where the best, cheap and affordable pharmacy programs I can do. I was planning to do either 2+3, 3+3, or 4+3.Which one should I do based on my stats and location. I live in southern California. I am not the smartest but I will try my best. Can you also do this layout:

EXAMPLE LAYOUT:

SCHOOL
PROGRAMS AVAILABLE (2+3,… ECT)
TUITION INSTATE AND OUT STATE
LOCATION
ACT SCORE
PCAT REQUIRED?
GPA WEIGHTED AND UNWEIGHTED
ACCEPTANCE RATE
PROS AND CONS
JOB POSSIBILITY AFTER GRAD

thanks very much

I am not going to do the layout for you. Generally, the UC’s are the least expensive (UCSF and UCSD) and the 2 main private schools (USC and UOP) are very expensive. I believe there are other expensive private schools too that are not the mainstream colleges and their admission requirements are not as stringent as the UC’s and USC (you can research this in the internet). Generally the UC’s and USC require a 4 year bachelors degree before entering pharmacy school (total of 8 years of college). There are some exceptions to transfer after 2 or 3 years of college, but it is very competitive. UOP is a 7 years program with a 4 year bachelors degree. They offer the 2+3 or 3+3 when you apply as a high school student to the freshman program and direct admission, but you need to maintain a high GPA to get into the UOP pharmacy school. This UOP freshman program is also very competitive to get into.

Generally to get into pharmacy school at the UC’s and USC, you have do well in the sciences (biology, chemistry, physics), especially chemistry. There is a 2nd year of chemistry (organic), I believe you should have at least around a college GPA of 3.5. Good luck.

What is the tuition for UOP instate with dorm? Is it easy to get grants and financial aid? What should i have for UOP gpa weighted and unweighted wise, ACT wise to participate in their 4+3?

UOP is an private university. COA for undergrad is $56K/year. For Pharmacy around $88K for 3 terms.

To get into the UOP 4+3 as a freshman after high school, I think you might need stats (GPA, ACT or SAT) similar to the high school seniors who are getting accepted as freshmen by UCLA, UCB, USC, etc. The only students I know who got in are the ones who had the UCLA, UCB, etc. type of stats. Since you are a high school junior, you can ask others who got in. Maybe the UOP website might address it or it may just list the minimum stats required to be admitted, but because it is so competitive, the actuals admitted stats are much higher.

Weighted GPA: 3.79
SAT: 1940 (800 Math, 560 Reading, 580 Writing)
SAT II: 780 Math II C
APs: 7

First Gen. College
EC: President of club (HOPE GOF), VP of a business club (FBLA), Treasurer of Lions Club International, 1000+ service hours, Football JV Captain (Freshman year), 3 year varsity member.

Accepted: CSULB, Cal Poly Pomona, SJSU, UCR, University of Pacific
Waitlist: Pepperdine
Rejected: UCSD, UCLA, UCD, SCU, UCI, UCSB, USC

As you can see my specs weren’t the best, but I was able to be accepted into the 3+3 Pre-Pharmacy program. So don’t lose too much hope looking at your grades and not seeing it as “up-to-par” with the others that get in. Just try your best and finish this year strong.
