I am trying to decide whether to go to UF or USF in for the Philosophy department. I am trying to go to a good law school after I finish my undergrads. I heard that UFs law school is very good which makes me think that may be my best choice, however I have heard that USF’s Philosophy department is better. Does anyone have a unbiased opinion on this?
Looks like FSU may have the best program in the state…
However, going to USF will not hurt your chances at getting into UF’s (or any other Florida) law school. If you want, attend USF for your BA, and then apply to UF’s law school.
Good Luck!
Yeah FSU ranks towards the top (if not The Top) in both Philosophy and for their Law program. There is also a Political Philosophy minor which I have heard is very useful as well as a Law and Society minor. But as Gator88NE said, your undergrad doesn’t affect which Law school you get into.
However, you should think about the opportunities that certain schools offer (i.e. law societies, mock trial, internships, etc.) because that and your GPA/LSAT is what gets you into great Law Schools, and anyone can have a good GPA.
