Best Physics UC?

I want to major in Physics. I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out which UCs are best for this major. I hear UCSB is pretty good, but i keep getting mixed signals. Anybody go to a good Physics school? Any help would be appreciated... :)

I'm not sure, but intuition tells me that Berkeley is good too...

I would recommend doing a little research. Go to each of their home pages, look at their faculty, their research, the courses offered and the program style. Its more important to find a Physics programs that fits your interests than to find the "best" one.

I have a PhD in Astrophysics from Berkeley, and have taught at UCSB.
Almost all the UCs are strong in Physics, especially Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, and UCSB. In the subfield of Astrophysics, add Santa Cruz to the list (yes, Santa Cruz... it has a top 10 graduate program in astro!)
Irvine is also up and coming... they have hired a lot of very top-notch people over the past couple of years, and the university has being dumping a lot of money into even more improvements.
